Rabindranagar PS is one of the most urbanized areas of the district. The PS serves a small area of 6sq km , but with a high density of population. The PS has total population of 1,31,613 (Male- 68,662 & Female – 62,951) of which are 27% Hindus and 72% Muslims. The other PS around Rabindranagar Police Station are Maheshtala PS, Behala PS, Alipore PS, Metiabruz PS & Nadial PS. There are many famous industries such as GRWTP & KMWSA under KMC near Nature Park. This area is very close to Kolkata and has many industries functioning under it. Providing a conducive atmosphere for the functioning of industries is one of the core responsibilities of Rabindranagar PS. There are few brick fields operating in the Ps jurisdiction and labour problems crop up every now and then. Prevailing Hindu- Muslim tensions make the area crime prone. Labour problems occur frequently, but the police observes strict vigil to identify the labour unrest and take pro active steps.
